HUGE updates

Hello all,

I did a quick search but could not find what info I was after.


Is there a good reason the Ded server updates are F'N massive? I'm downloading 10-15GB each update where my client updates ~100mb.

I used SteamCMD to download and update the server, trying to keep things lightweight.

I love playing around and hosting servers for different games, but this is becoming unfeasible.


Should I be running the server direct from the Steam download directory?

I currently use ARK Server Manager to manage the server, but I do not DL/ Update with it.

If you run a steamcmd update on your existing directory, it will only pull new files. I haven't seen any update over 2-3 GB in size.
