This is a fact that server restarts during player taming cause bugs when taming is complete. I thought Ark might have addressed this issue/bug, but it seems they haven't as of yet. So I am posting this up in case the devs do not know about this yet.
Why is it fact? - Because I've previously tamed two raptors during a server restart/crash (on a privately hosted server) and it has caused the same issue that I am about to describe the effects of. I have now tried to tame an Anky on a completely different server, and the exact same bug has occurred.
Who does it affect? - Everyone. Some people can get away with it not happening if the dino is almost tamed when a restart occurs.
I noticed this within an hour after my Ank was fully tamed, but I wasn't the only one. I saw reports during in game chat that another tribe was taming a T-rex during the restart period and this caused an issue with theirs too.
What bugs/issues has it caused to taming? - There is a new feature which adds levels to your dino if your taming effectiveness is high when you start taming. I witnessed this feature work on a mammoth that we started taming AFTER the restart. However, with my Ank, I was supposed to successfully have +3 levels, but after taming was complete, this did not happen. The other things you should notice if this has happened to you, is that none of your stats will increase either - I.e. they stay the same as when you successfully rendered the dino unconscious. The third glitch/bug that happens with the dino is that the dino doesn't receive experience and therefore will not level up.
How do you fix this? - The only solution found after this happened to me before was a server restart again. The restart seemed to fix the bug and the dino started recieving XP like normal.
