ARK FPS

I set everything to LOW in ARK and i only get 25-28 FPS this is my specs:



Is there anyway i can improve this? or should i be getting more FPS?
And btw my Graphics Card is AMD Radeon R9 270X Series

That's pretty much normal man, the game is heavy on the graphics end. You can try running the game with lower terrain / memory on startup options and play with that.

This game is pretty much an Alpha when looking at the patch notes and changes all the time. At the moment their "nerfing" allot on the GPU which is a good thing which should give improvement. Although this game is leaning allot on NVIDIA Engines such as Physix and rendering methods. Since you got a Radeon R9 it should not be much of a problem.

Most of the times with my beastly specs (listed below) I also have quite some GPU and CPU lag from the game.

PC Specs:

• Asus Z97-K (Mainboard)
• Intel i7 4790-K @ 4.812 GHz
• Corsair Vengeance 2100 MHz 2x 8GB (16 GB In total)
• GeForce GTX 980
• Other Parts not listed because of of irrelevance.

As for more information it is the best to daily check this page for the latest patch notes and updates of the game. As you will see they are improving allot and adding it on the fly. Ark is one of the only games where I am actually satisfied with how they produce patch notes and updates.

I have a 780 Ti and can only play on Medium with 30+ FPS.

A 980 can apparently play on Ultra with 30 ~ FPS.

Usually I have the game EVE Online running in the back ground when that game is being "Off rendered" I get about 24 to 28 FPS. When not running any other game at all I get about 40 to 49 FPS.

Personally I get 40-55 FPS normally on ARK with everything on EPIC except the shadows as I prefer them to be low. Though my PC is only 2 months old and set me back £1050. Though they are constantly making improvements to GPU performance such as the 20% performance boost as of last week.

I'm getting around 45fps on average (GTX970) but even then it drops below 20fps sometimes for no appearant reason.


You could always enable the -sm4 tag if you need more fps. The game does take a hit graphics wise, but when I tried it I got around 60-70fps.
