Posting this on behalf of a friend who didn't want this to be an issue... however, shes been in two servers know where people put bounties on her for being a higher level female player. I realize this is a game, and killing is part of PvP, but when that is the known reason, does this border on illegal discrimination?

Unfortunately for you, this is a fan based/created forum. I'm not saying the admin/mods of the Ark game do not view threads created on this website (if they were smart, they would), but it is probably not likely you'll get an official response for your inquiry.

I would be happy to offer you my two cents, though. I would take what people say and do in this game with a grain of salt. You'll always run into people like this no matter where you go. As the old adage goes, it's best to not feed the trolls. They will get bored and move on to something or someone else.

Discrimination should be out of the game in my opinion even if it is the other way around (feminism).

Unfortunate situation but these game servers are ran independently of the game developer behind ark (Wildcard Studios)

You would need to contact the admin of the server. If the admin of the server happens to be nonchalent about it, you'll have to create a new character somewhere else. The internet is full of trolls who have nothing better to do sometimes, I understand your frustration.

Although talking about boarders:

In the thin line between love and hate there is allot of variables, when you put every thing in a blender:

• Bullying,
• Jealousy,
• Obsession,
• Unknowing,
• Feminism,
• Gender discrimination,

When we put these factors together you get allot of combination, since I lack the time I will shorten it up.
In a nutshell for many man:

• Bullying - Testosterone
• Jealousy - Emotion / Feeling
• Obsession - Emotion / Feeling
• Unknowing - Unaware
• Feminism - Discreet desire/will for women
• Gender discrimination - Hatred

Since I am writing this post in a rapid way I could have one or two things described wrongly*

Basically their hormones are causing a conflict with their emotion which melts their brain so they become unaware of what their doing right? So lets put it the other way around: Your friend her presence makes them uncontrolled wild emotional bastards that cannot handle their own brains in awareness of a women.

A solution would be:

• Male Game Character,
• Good fun of role playing and trolling around by keyboard,
• Simply tell people you do not want to use microphone (or deny you have one),
• Leave those testosterone bastards in unawareness,

It's not Ark - its the world really.

I recently started an ARP RP server and there's a pretty visible Rules page that is kind of what I would want to see anywhere people are trying to have a bit of peace and quiet and play their game.

My advice to you and your friend is to basically find a server where people have actually thought about this stuff, and weeded it out from the beginning. Then Yeah it might occur but at least its understood as a rule breach rather than "Ah they were probably messing".

The worst thing about sexism is the debate that comes afterwards. DId it go to far? was it just a joke? Am I just being overly sensitive. None of its necessary and it becomes much bigger and uglier than ever.

ARK AZURA General Rules.

The Ark Azura community is based on the core tenets of respect for each other, mature behaviour, and a desire to build a positive gaming environment, free from abuse or drama.
Because of this we have rules about player interactions and behaviour that are Hard Law. Breach of these rules will result in disciplinary action and/or permanent banning.

The following won't be tolerated in Ark Azura under any circumstances:

1. No Racism or bigotry or sexism.
Intolerance or threatening behaviour towards anyone for any reason is unacceptable. We are an open community, based in Norway that welcome LGBTQ people, in accordance with a mature and liberated Social culture, and all religions and ethnic cultures. We ask that conflicting opinions and views regarding religion or politics be taken elsewhere.
2. No Criminal behaviour, or incitement of it.
Anything that promotes criminal activities will be reported to the right authority. This includes talk of hacking or pirating the game, or attempted use of hacks or pirated versions of the game. This server is hosted in Oslo and is under Norwegian legal jurisdiction, so European laws apply regarding data, privacy, and copyright.
3. No griefing.
Griefing is a little word that can mean a lot of bad things. We describe it as behaving in a mean spirited way to provoke or upset another player, or childish behaviour.
4. No out-of-character threats or insults.
We will assume that all threats are serious and report them if neccasary. We dont accept the “it was a joke” excuse. We don't have a sense of humor for it.
5. No Harrassment or stalking of other players.
If we are given proof that this is happening to members of our community even away from the Ark Azura servers then we will take action. Evidence of this will lead to immediate banning and perhaps a report to the police in the perpetrator's country.
6. The age limit of this server is 18 years of age.
This is non-negotiable in order to comply with Norwegian and international Law since this is an adult themes Roleplay server and there are real world restrictions regarding sexual interactions (text or otherwise) with minors.
