The Kamchatka, or Giant Crab, is a colossal crustacean that lives in the oceans around the island. they are carnivores, but feed mostly on Coelecanths and Pirahnas. They aren't openly hostile, but are extremely territorial, and will attack anyone, especially the player, that enters their area. Outside of their territory, they rapidly become more docile, to almost downright passive.

In the Wild: One of the primary threats to coastal tribes, outside of the common Megalodon, is the fiercely territorial Kamchatka. Unlike the Megalodon however, the Giant Crab is able to walk onto land in pursuit of prey, or to protect its territory. Their spiny, chitonous body armor protects them from most threats, and is even able to injure creatures that attempt to strike it.
Domesticated: An incredibly valuable asset to any coastal tribe, with its massive pincer claws, the Giant Crab is capable as both a powerful fighter, and effective lumberjack, able to harvest wood from narrow trees with a few quick swipes. They also use their weight and their 8 legs to crawl along the seafloor, rather than swim, offering a quicker, and often safer way to access the deep sea riches.
Known Facts: Many tribes use Giant Crabs as both fighters and workers, due to the wide reach of their massive claws, as well as their ability to change their stance to rise up to nearly double their already impressive height, allowing their rider greater safety from threats below. Though Giant Crabs are unable to jump while on land, they are able to traverse steep terrain, and they can jump underwater to begin swimming normally, but will sink back down if left to float. They are also the only creatures capable of moving laterally or "Strafing"

Taming:
Giant Crabs cannot be knocked unconscious through punching them, since they deal counter damage through their spiky armor. Instead the player must use a club on their central body, or tranq arrows on their underbelly or leg joints, where their armor is thinner.

Riding:
Crabs have a very diverse moveset.
-They are the only creatures able to strafe left and right while facing forwards.
-They can rise up by positioning their legs underneath them to increase their height (Performed by pressing Jump while on land, press crouch to revert to standard position), thereby protecting the rider from attacks lower to the ground, or allowing a better vaulting point for their rider to disembark onto walls or cliffs.
-In the water, they are able to walk and sprint along the seafloor. They can begin swimming by pressing Jump to launch off of the floor and into the open water, from there, they swim normally, albeit slowly, but gradually sink back down.
-Their powerful claws can chop down narrow trees in a single attack, instantly harvesting their wood and thatch. The wide arc of their claw attack allows them to potentially harvest multiple trees at a time, making them excellent lumberjacks.

Drops:
Kamchatka drop large amounts of Chitin, Raw Meat, meager amounts of Raw Prime Meat, and 1-2 Giant Claws, which are used as trophies.

Roles:
Lumberjack: Their aforementioned lumberjacking ability makes them able to clear large areas of small trees extremely quickly. They have decent carry weight, making them able to carry a good amount of wood

Tank: Their thick, spiny armor offers great protection, and does counter damage to any creature that attacks it. Only humans using weapons, and creatures with ranged attacks are able to engage it safely. Combine this with their high health and it makes a large creature that is definitely hard to kill.

Damage: Their wide reaching claw swipes can deal great AOE damage in front of them.

Elevator: They can rise up to protect their Riders from ground attacks, as well as act as a higher vaulting point for players to jump off onto roofs, walls, or cliffs, or when using a torch, cast light in a wider area in dark places.

Transports: Despite their overall low speed, they can easily climb over rocks and up cliffsides, as well as walk around on the bottom of the ocean.

I like it. It would be neat to have an aquatic mount that walks along the seabed as opposed to swimming.
