Ok so delete this if this doesn't belong here, but i have a few suggestions that have that i hope will make it into the game
to start manual wiring, now what i mean by this is when you are setting your base up and you place a generator, wires and your outlet, and when the outlet finds devices nearby it spiderwebs iteself to anything it can find, i would prefer to set the range of this and make it more tidy
next gap filling segments, when your building on uneven surfaces or near a cliff and your building up you notice that you can never fill in the gaps and it looks obscure, having smaller and adjustable in size filling tiles so you can close the gap to your structure
carpets? why is this not already there, for those who build metal bases and those irritating reflective floors, make a simple carpet or rug like tile to cover it
does anyone else think this would work or could this be modded in?

Yes the metal looks nice during the day if your not blinded by it. Even indoors LOL... Then at night the metal gets really dark and you cant see it unless your on top of it. Even indoors and the place is lit up. I agree. Do something about the metal floors/ceilings PLEASE!
As for the gaps... make foundations stackable, and also make pillars snap to wall corners or something. Flip a pillar in its side and call it a truss or something LOL and make it snap to ceiling edges. Just some suggestions. I think it could help with many complaints about building gaps. Would even add to cosmetic appeal

This is a semi-annoying alternative but I always lay ceilings/roofs on top on foundations for the even flooring. It's alittle more expensive but evens out floors nicely and pretty much everything can be built on the ceilings as easily as the foundations. I agree with the trusses idea for horizontal support. Also remember if you space the supports out every 5 foundations, you can minimize the amount of supports you'll need. So you can build a 10 by 10 room with only 1 support if it's in the center of the room.

Yes Im aware of that. The pillars corner snappening is more for cosmetic purposes for me but it could add support. Also it could fill a gap in the corner where walls may not have lined up. Somehow the place I have now had 2 snap points for walls so I have a tight inside wall which I made of metal. The outside wall I left stone, but the outside wall does not meet up. There is a small gap that exposes my inside metal wall. That would be a spot Id cover the gap with a pillar. I just thought using pillars would be a good way to fill gaps

Ah ok, I can see the issue your having then. I could see it being an easier fix for them to have a more seamless snapping of the current structure pieces. However making corner snapping supports would not technically prove any more functional then the wall they are attached to. So if they simply fix the seams on current walks, it's be an easier an quicker fix. Also in regards to carpet, what I do for "Rugs" is paint Thatch Roofs and lay them on top of metal foundations. That way you can even Checkerboard Pattern your floor and have no glare. They do need to reduce the reflectiveness of metal though.
