I feel that not being able to unlock all of the engram (correct me if I am wrong) without friends playing with you is not the best as it means that you would have to be playing with friends in order to get the full experience of the game. If there is already a forum post about this please link me to it and I will delete and just comment on the other post

I am not sure if you have looted any supply drops (the colored drops from the sky), but they have a chance at dropping blueprints. You can obtain a lot if not all of the items that you can learn with Engram points.
I have been lucky and looted a bunch of them and have a bookshelf full of them.
I assume that this is the means of being able to craft items that you do not have the points to learn the engram.
You may have to wait a while before you get what you want/need but this is part of the excitement of looting a supply drop!
