Hey, I have about 100 hours into the game, and so far I've been missing some stuff that I think could be added and or just improved present content. These are all me and some of my tribe mates suggestions.
Items; Spears-> metal spears (throwable). dip stone/metal spear tips in narco, or possibly poison?
Low level bandage, to restore health in lower levels. (can add a healing plant for some authenticity)
More armor designs (ghillie suit for instance, camo gear, maybe just some different looking hide/chintin/flak armors just to make the gameplay a bit diverse. No more look alikes!!
Character effects; poison (craftable? harvestable poisonous plants? can be applied to arrows or/and spears, would for an example be great if hunting parasaurs in early levels, spears dipped in narco is kinda more for immersion though),
Adrenaline Rush(running from a 8m tall rex maaay get you running that extra mile imo, should add something like a 2-3 second sprint/period that doesn't cost stamina, if chased by a predator)
World effects; Seasons( length of dyas, warmth and cold
Add Skills; Taming (suggestion has probably been made before, currently the taming is to much of a time dump on official servers imo. Taming skill can work just like melee dmg, start by default at 100% then you can decide if you want to dedicate skill points in the skill to make the taming faster and/or more effective.)
Range dmg(increased dmg for ows and crossbows)
Marksman (increased dmg or for ''modern'' weapons)
Configuration; Increase the egg drop rate, atleast for the official servers, the amount of eggs needed for taming is ludicrous in comparison to the amount dropped by animals.
Ark boasts of having a dynamic ecosystem, which is great imo. Though if you want some kind of realistic accuracy, you need to tweak the predator-pray relationship. 3 rexes and a spino within 50m just reminds me of the setup of other grindfest rpgs... you know.. when you get a task kill 50 of these and they're all pretty much standing next to each other.. However, I don't think the level system is broken, but I do believe there are to many predators for an actual ecosystem. Then perhaps you could nerf the amount of predators but increase the xp gain of the ones left? and possibly make a small increase in the xp gain from herbivores (presuming that currently big carnivore give more xp than herbivores) to maintain the same xp/hour.
I suppose you have been asked to and are going to expand the map. An idea could be to link some islands together, sepearted by an ocean, thus making use of the underwater element of the game. It would also make people spread out abit more :)
I suppose you will smooth out the temperature meter. Standing on sand will make you overheat whilst walking from sand biome to a mountain biome will make you freeze instead. Even if it was just a few steps.
